Caption: Mint Chocolate Chunk label for Mallard Ice Cream This is one of my absolute favorite pieces. The concept is the culmination of many conversations with Mallard owner Ben Scholtz, and not a single element does not bare his direction. However, my own hand is still evident in every line. The result is a drawing that set me off in a completely new direction in my illustration techniques. New to me, at least. I find this reminiscent of R. Crumb's work, and that pleases and tickles me. Mallard Ice Cream is rated by at least one book as the best ice cream parlor west of the Mississippi. Most of Bellingham seems to rate it the best ice cream ever. |
